Introduction

Welcome to Oppia!

Oppia is an open-source learning platform that helps anyone create and share engaging, interactive lessons for young learners — typically age 7-14. So far, we’ve helped over 2.5 million people learn new skills and master foundational subjects. These lessons guide learners through questions, answers, and feedback that adapt to each learner’s needs.

Why Oppia?

At Oppia, we believe that the best way to learn is by doing. Real learning happens through practice, feedback, and reflection. Oppia is designed to support that process and bring it to those who don’t have access to personal instruction or quality education.

Oppia helps educators, contributors, and learners create and access high-quality lessons that are:

  • Interactive. Lessons adapt to what the learner does.

  • Feedback-rich. Learners receive immediate, helpful feedback.

  • Continuously improving. Lessons get better over time as more learners use them and educators refine their content.

  • Designed for all learners. Oppia content is translated into multiple languages with more on the way.

  • Free, always. Anyone can use, share, or contribute to lessons on Oppia.org.

All content is Creative Commons licensed, meaning it’s open for anyone to embed, reuse, or build upon.
